The evolution of microstructures in pure vanadium under electron irradiation was investigated. At first pure vanadium was implanted by deuterium ions at R.T. or irradiated by electrons at R.T. Then they were aged and irradiated by electrons at 573K as well as 773K. The result showed that under electron irradiation at 573K dislocation loops grew up and interacted with network dislocations and each other in both of the specimens. When irradiated at 773K, the microstructure in the electron-irradiated vanadium at R.T. was similar to that at 573K, i.e., dislocation loops and network dislocations. While voids appear in the deuterium-implanted vanadium. Vanadium-deuterium interaction in the deuterium-implanted vanadium at 773K is the creation of superabundant vacancies by deuterium and related damages under electron irradiation. The formation of voids depends on temperature, implanted particle and irradiation dose.
