To probe the phonon-spin coupling in Y$_2$NiMnO$_6$ we performed Raman spectroscopy measurements under temperature changes since 10 K up to 850 K. The spin-phonon coupling was observed as a softening of the stretching mode indicating this phonon stabilizes the magnetic interaction. The result indicates the rare earth ionic radius in Re$_2$NiMnO$_6$ double perovskites is not the unique parameter to influence in the spin-coupling magnitude.
