We present a theory to describe the dynamics of the charge density in a thin-film field- effect transistor, and use it to fit electro-optic measurements of the induced charge in an organic transistor and thereby determine its mobility. The theory takes the form of a one-dimensional non-linear differential equation that describes the charge variation in the channel of the transistor, for which the charge and conductivity are zero in the absence of applied voltages. We study the case of "zero applied current": zero drain-source voltage with a square-wave voltage applied to the gate, assuming constant mobility.
